All About Club Lacrosse
Spring may be lacrosse season, but fall is summer-club-lacrosse-try-out season. If your son or daughter can’t get enough lacrosse and wants to play competitive lax with the top players and coaches in New England, club lacrosse is the answer.
Elite clubs hold try outs from August – November for their travel teams in the summer. Summer club teams tend to practice two to three times a week and play in three to four tournaments between June and July. (Some club teams also play on Saturdays in the spring.) Clubs often also play in “fall ball” tournaments in November. Destinations range from the Boston and central Massachusetts to Connecticut and Vermont, and sometimes as far as New Jersey and Maryland.
Club play is a serious commitment, yet there is no better way for youth and high school athletes to reach their full potential. If a player hopes to play college lacrosse some day, membership in a club team is almost mandatory.
BYL coaches recommend all of the clubs below for the high quality of their coaching and competitive play. For more information, please visit their websites.
